Banquets

Located in the centre of Basel in a historical Guild House, is an unrivalled meeting and events space at Safran Zunft. In addition to our restaurant we offer three intimate and private dining/meeting rooms with a reception area in which we are able to cater to a wide range of events such as gala dinners, banquets, seminars, Christmas and birthday dinners, cocktail receptions or private dinners. The spectacular Zunftsaal is one of the grandest spaces you will find in Basel, offering a space for larger groups and private or corporate events.

Zunftsaal

Our largest space is one of the most beautiful and elegant halls Basel has to offer. The historic ballroom with a ceiling height of up to eight metres creates an atmosphere of grandeure. It offers the ideal setting for banquets, luncheons, weddings, conferences and exihibitions. The hall can accommodate up to 180 people on round tables and up to 300 people comfortably on long rectangular tables. The Zunftsaal is often used in conjunction with the reception area on the first floor.

Vorgesetztenstube

This charming private dining room is decorated with elegant wood paneling and historical stained glass windows, some dating back to 1750. The room accomodates up to 24 people and can be opened to the Andreas Ryff Room next door, in order to seat up to 60 guests.

Andreas Ryff-Stube

The Andreas Ryff room is dedicated to the prominent former councilman of Safran Guild. The private dining room can seat 40 people or extend to the Vorgesetztenstube to cater to parties of 60 people.

Gilgenstube

The bright room takes its name from the lily found in the Safran Zunft’s coat of arms. Newly refurbished and technically equipped, the space accomodates up to 50 guests on round tables.

SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

Easily accessible by public transport and equipped with the technical support you may require we offer flexible meeting, seminar and conference space. Our venue is able to accomodate 15 to 150 people. Attractive seminar packages are available or a bespoke offer can be created.
